This role will deliver casework to clients in outreach settings across the City of Lincoln. The caseworker will work with clients who require intensive support, and will help the clients unpick their situations, highlighting the broad range of issues they face. They will develop an action plan with the client, setting out the activities they will carry out on behalf of the client and the activities the client feels confident to carry out themselves. A caseworker’s role is to work with the client to overcome particular issues, and we focus very much on the principle of empowerment.
Issues the caseworker may support with include:
- Income maximisation – looking at financial support available and enabling clients to access the welfare benefits to which they are entitled
- Appealing welfare benefits decisions including supporting at tribunal level
