This role will deliver casework to clients in outreach settings across the City of Lincoln. The caseworker will work with clients who require intensive support, and will help the clients unpick their situations, highlighting the broad range of issues they face. They will develop an action plan with the client, setting out the activities they will carry out on behalf of the client and the activities the client feels confident to carry out themselves. A caseworker’s role is to work with the client to overcome particular issues, and we focus very much on the principle of empowerment.
Issues the caseworker may support with include:
- Dealing with unmanageable debt – supporting clients to deal with unmanageable debt in the most appropriate way possible
- Housing – dealing with a broad range of housing issues including homelessness prevention, enabling clients to secure safe and secure housing, dealing with issues with landlords and supporting people experiencing actual homelessness
- Income maximisation – looking at financial support available, reducing outgoings and enabling clients to make the best use of their money
- Support clients with financial capability to ensure they can manage their money well, including their energy issues and costs
