Since 28 November 2016 you can't start a new claim using the small claims procedure. It has been replaced by the simple procedure for cases worth up to £5,000. The information on this page is for reference only.

If you started a small claim before 28 November 2016, or are defending a small claim raised before this date, and it hasn't been resolved, the rules for a small claims action will still apply to your case.
